An analysis of the occupations held by the resident population in the City of Greater Geelong in 2006 shows the three most popular occupations were;

• Professionals (15,270 person or 18.0%*)
• Technicians and Trades Workers (14,158 persons or 16.7%*)
• Clerical and Administrative Workers (11,346 persons or 13.4%*)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 40,774 people in total or 48.0%* of the employed resident population.
